LOCATION: The village of Pomoshtnik (Stara Zagora District) is located in South-Eastern Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Galabovo. The village is located at the food of the Sakar Mountain in hilly area. At the west end of the village is located the "Mogilite"/meaning mounds/. The name comes from the many mounds erected here since Roman times to the time in which "socialism" no one is interested, and later looted by treasure hunters. Fair is held annually during the second weekend of November. On Shrove bonfire is lit in the center. The primary natural resource of the municipality Gulubovo is the lignite coal field, part of the Maritsa East basin where 57% of the Bulgarian coal resources are concentrated (2, 6 billion tons, representing a 30 m high layer. Stara Zagora, the administrative capital of the homonymous Stara Zagora Province, is a cultural centre of particular significance for Bulgaria as it is an ancient Thracian, subsequently Greek, Roman and Byzantine metropolis. The oldest Neolithic remains were found in Stara Zagora. In October 2004, Stara Zagora Province was awarded for having the best quality of life in Europe, together with Greater Zürich (Switzerland), and ahead of Andalucia (Spain), and Flanders (Belgium). The award was given by fDi Magazine, produced by the renowned Financial Times Group, for the region's low-cost, newly built accommodation and rich cultural heritage.
