Village of Zimnitsa is located in South-Central Bulgaria. It is part of Maglij Municipality, Stara Zagora District. The municipality of Maglizh is located in the center of Southern Bulgaria, between the Stara Planina and Sredna Gora Mountains i Stara Zagora district. The elevation above sea level varies from 265 meters to 1485 meters. The territory of the municipality is rich in fresh subterranean water that springs from alluvial cones at the foot of the Stara Planina Mountain. Because the water contains fluorine, hydrogen sulfide and metasilicon acid, it is extremely beneficial for healing skin diseases, and helping those afflicted with orthopedic, neurological, gynecological and other medical problems. There are mineral spas in the village of Yagoda catering to guests with these problems or just in need of revitalization. Traditional industrial sectors in the Muglij municipality are logging, and wood processing, based on the woodlands in the surrounding mountains. Agriculture is well developed. The land is favorable for cultivating wheat, barley, maize, sunflower, and tobacco. In the last years the plantations with essential oil plants (rose, lavender, etc.) are growing. The Tundzha River flows through the region providing a natural asset for agricultural irrigation. Stara Zagora Region is situated in the middle of Southern Bulgaria. It is bounded by the regions of Sliven, Yambol, Haskovo, Plovdiv, Gabrovo and Veliko Tarnovo. It covers the Stara Zagora plain, Kazanlak kettle, some of the middle parts of the Balkan Mountains and the Sredna Gora Mountains. The region is rich in water resources. Besides the upper stream of the Tundzha River and its numerous tributaries, the area is abundant in karst springs. There are a lot of mineral springs in Pavel Banya, Stara Zagora spas, the village of Yagoda. Koprinka dam is one of the biggest in the country. The fertile Kazanlak kettle is famous for its special sorts of fragrant roses from which the precious rose oil is extracted. The Trakia (Thrace) and Maritza highways as well as the Sofia-Karlovo-Burgas, Sofia-Plovdiv-Burgas and Ruse-Podkova railroads cross the region. In the vicinity of Radnevo is the mining and power plant complex Maritza-Iztok.
