Markovo

The village of Markovo is located in southern Bulgaria. It is part of Bratya Daskalovi Municipality which includes 23 settlements with 8538 residents. It is part of Stara Zagora Province.
The municipality of Bratya Daskalovi is situated in the Upper Thracian Plain, on the west part of the Chirpan heights.
The main railroad and highway leading from the capital Sofia to Bourgas port cross the territory of the municipality. All villages within the municipality are connected with third and forth-class roads.
Agriculture is the leading and most promising sector of the municipal economy. Soil and climatic conditions in the area are very conductive to crop cultivation: grain for bread and fodder, vine, fruit and vegetable growing, essential oils and industrial crops. The village of Plodovitovo hosts one of the largest fruit and vegetable markets in the country.
The mountainous and hilly lands in the northern part of the municipality are suitable for growing perennial plants and essential oils. Remote from any sources of industrial pollution, these lands are excellent for the production of organic fruits and vegetables, and the development of rural tourism, further enhanced by the picturesque landscape, rich in historical sites.
The village of Markovo itself is situated in the foot of Surnena Sredna Gora Mountain. A small river called Suha Reka passes through the village. Markovo is a nice and quiet place perfect for relaxation.
