Village of Dimovtsi is located in South-Central Bulgaria. It is part of Gurkovo Municipality, Stara Zagora District. Gourkovo Municipality is one of the youngest municipalities in the country, established only in 1997. It is located in South-Central Bulgaria between the Balkan Range and Sredna Gora Mountain in the eastern end of the Rose Valley. Two important road-transport highways pass through its territory: The Pass of the Republic connecting Northern with Southern Bulgaria and the Sofia - Bourgas main road with a railroad running parallel along with it. The region is crossed by the Toundzha River and the Zhrebchevo Dam Lake is in its southern part. Natural sights and monuments of culture in Gurkovo municipality: There are some historical sites around city of Gourkovo that have been declared monuments of culture - Manastira (the monastery), Bilchin Dol (vale of the herbs), Yurtishtata, Assara, Portata (the gate), Gredata (the beam). The three churches - Sv. Dimitur in the town of Gourkovo, The Presentaiton of the Blessed Virgin in the village of Panicherevo and Saint Holy Trinity in the village of Konare - have been declared monuments of culture, too. In the village of Pchelinovo there is a unique house-monument of the youth-brigade movement built by the builders of the Pass of the Republic. Stara Zagora Region is situated in the middle of Southern Bulgaria. It is bounded by the regions of Sliven, Yambol, Haskovo, Plovdiv, Gabrovo and Veliko Tarnovo. It covers the Stara Zagora plain, Kazanlak kettle, some of the middle parts of the Balkan Mountains and the Sredna Gora Mountains. The region is rich in water resources. Besides the upper stream of the Tundzha River and its numerous tributaries, the area is abundant in karst springs. There are a lot of mineral springs in Pavel Banya, Stara Zagora spas, the village of Yagoda. Koprinka dam is one of the biggest in the country. The fertile Kazanlak kettle is famous for its special sorts of fragrant roses from which the precious rose oil is extracted. The Trakia (Thrace) and Maritza highways as well as the Sofia-Karlovo-Burgas, Sofia-Plovdiv-Burgas and Ruse-Podkova railroads cross the region. In the vicinity of Radnevo is the mining and power plant complex Maritza-Iztok.
